UT Student Professional Training Through PTV NuStats NuAcademy
October 17, 2011
PTV NuStats—Austin, Texas: Graduates from the University of Texas at Austin (UT-Austin) will join PTV NuStats transportation researchers in a VISUM Workshop on October 19-20, 2011. VISUM is a state-of-the-art transportation planning software. The workshop is sponsored by PTV NuStats in partnership with Dr. Chandra Bhat a professor in UT-Austin’s Department of Architectural and Environmental Engineering.
The workshop, offered through the firm’s NuAcademy training program, will provide hands-on training on VISUM, a comprehensive, flexible software system for transportation planning and traffic engineering. The software, part of the PTV Vision suite is widely used throughout the transportation industry for metropolitan, regional and statewide and national planning applications. Through VISUM, transportation planners and modelers can consider all transportation modes.
Dr. Martin Kunzmann, President of PTV NuStats, established the NuAcademy training center as a venue for building intellectual capacity and introducing technology advances into the firm’s research practice. Dr. Kunzmann said, “Next week’s training is a first step in the growing partnership between the company and Dr. Bhat to enhance academic training and professional networking for graduate students and researchers at CTR.” PTV NuStats continually seeks UT graduates to add to its growing pool of talented researchers, statisticians, planners, and programming/IT staff. Kunzmann added, “Through our partnership with Dr. Bhat we will open our doors to graduate students—and potentially, attract new talent to the firm.”
