History

NuStats was founded in 1984 by Dr. Carlos Arce, who for 25 years, alongside his partner, Dr. Johanna Zmud, steered NuStats as the undisputed leader in methods innovation and in the introduction of constantly renewed technological advances in travel survey data. Drs. Arce and Zmud sold the company to PTV of Karlsruhe, Germany in July 2006 and maintained a minority ownership with PTV until April 2010.

PTV NuStats now operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of PTV. While Drs. Arce and Zmud are no longer with the company, they continue to provide their expertise and guidance on many of PTV NuStats’ current projects, and their vision in fusing rigorous survey science and new technology with traditional market research and consulting remains as the foundation for the company’s strategic direction.
