Job Title: Lead Graphic Designer (Technical)

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will be the authority in graphic design and production decision-making for printed material supporting survey research and other business segments within the PTV NuStats brand, including survey instruments and other research study materials, brochures, fact sheets, study logos, product promotion, business cards, and tradeshow graphics. The ideal candidate serves as task manager for design on project teams and works collaboratively with a team to produce survey and other research materials; with direction and feedback, takes materials from concept to completion, including design and production coordination, scope, budget and schedule definition, and other associated administrative functions. The candidate will develop corporate and project templates, create graphic and design standards based on the PTV family brand, and produce collateral that meets the graphical standards and marketing goals of the company.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide graphic design for printed material such as survey instruments, brochures, fact sheets, reports and other project deliverables, product specification sheets, study and product logos, business cards, promotional material, trade show graphics, etc.

  • Format and convert text and other information for web publishing/online media with attention to Section 508 compliance.

  • Serve as graphic design and production lead on business development, marketing, and project teams, coordinate with fulfillment and other departments, and develop systems and procedures to support design function within the research and business development process.

  • Develop and maintain corporate templates and design standards for internal operations and project-specific product delivery items, including memoranda, reports, letters, envelopes, etc. and maintain a resource library of printed materials.

  • Build relationships with vendors for production, secure bids for proposals and project delivery, and oversee print production of project and marketing/tradeshow material.

  • Work with outside design consultants as necessary.

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma required

  • Bachelor's Degree or 5 - 7 years of related experience required

  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years related graphic design experience and the ability to work without direct supervision

  • Recent experience with technical graphic design including complex forms, survey instruments, and/or software product specification sheets.

  • Proficiency necessary in graphic design, layout, image-manipulation, data-merge, word processing and spreadsheet software, including but not limited to Acrobat and other Adobe Digital Publishing Professional Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator; expertise in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Solid understanding of layout, design, pre-press, digital printing, typography, 2- to 4-color print and production process, and direct mail.

  • Close attention to detail, strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiples projects while working under strict deadlines.

  • Experience working with and managing design and print vendors while maintaining the highest quality product and within budget.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

  • Portfolio available for review (preferably online)
